Damien Van Bellinghen is born on the 7th of January 1978, of a family from the mining and steel industry, which once formed the wealth of Wallonia.
He spends his childhood and adolescence in Montigny-le-Tilleul, a green town at the gates of the thudinian countryside. Damien attends the Saint-Jean-Berchmans primary school, after which he continues his studies at the Jesuit College of Charleroi.
In 1994, he leaves his hometown and moves to the Walloon capital to start Hotel Industry studies, at the Ecole Hôtelière Provinciale de Namur and then at l’Ilon Saint-Jacques.
Whilst studying, he participates in the twinning of the City of Namur and the City of Québec. Indeed, the Integrated Centre for Alimentation and Tourism of Québec is twinned with his school in Namur.
Between 1999 and 2006, he is the owner and chef of two restaurants and a catering shop.
Whilst following his wish to work in the world of public relations and event management, he takes on a management position in 2006, at the Cercle de Wallonie in Namur, working side-by-side with André Van Hecke.
From 2009 until 2016, he works for various Belgian and Dutch companies, still operating inside the gastronomic business.
Alongside which he creates his first event company in his home region.
Since he was a little kid, Damien Van Bellinghen had a good sense of relations. He loves meeting people and discovering new horizons. Along the years, he shaped, with a lot of care and professionalism, respect and friendship, his address book on the national and the international level.
Moreover, he has always been invested in philanthropic actions. This led him to the acquaintance of His Royal Highness Prince Charles-Philippe d’Orléans in 2010, who became his friend, and in 2016, his associate.
In 2016, Damien Van Bellinghen joins the communication agency Crown, founded by Prince Charles-Philippe d’Orléans, and opens the Brussels bureau. Crown would later become Crown Premium Events.
In 2018, he would be at the origin of the creation of the Nuit des Etoiles, which is a three-day yearly gala in Brussels, at the profit of great causes Crown supports.
During the 2019 edition, the Star’s Club was born, the time of a weekend. It was already there at that precise moment, that the first signs manifested themselves of what would happen three years later.
In 2022, strengthened by the diversity and radiance of his business network, Damien Van Bellinghen opens the Club des Etoiles, and naturally, his friend and associate accepted to join the Club as its Honorary President.
Damien Van Bellinghen is Grand Prior of the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand-Duchy of Luxemburg at the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint-Lazarus of Jerusalem since 2013.
On a family level, he is father to a son and two daughters.
